For serious photographic print output – leaving aside expensive commercial-grade devices – one need look no further than the new Epson Stylus Pro 4900. As a wide carriage printer, capable of rendering cut-sheet photographs of up to 17 x 24 inches (A2), this 115-lb monster also handles 17-inch paper rolls… perfect for panoramas. With a resolution of 2880 x 1440 dpi, and Epson’s Variable Droplet Technology, which allows up to three different sized ink droplets (as small as 3.5 picolitres) to be deposited on every line, you can expect exceptional detail and fidelity in your printed imagery.
Utilizing the UltraChrome HDR K3 ink set, the 4900 boasts a 10-channel print head while accommodating 11 cartridges. This extra cartridge slot enables the photo black to be automatically exchanged with matte should the media inserted dictate, a huge savings in ink for anyone accustomed to swapping in and out and witnessing the levels of all cartridges drop as a result.

This ink set includes Photo Black, Cyan, Vivid Magenta, Yellow, Light Cyan, Vivid Light Magenta, Light Black, Light Light Black, Matte Black, Orange and Green.
